Like the Grass A single blade of grass
bounded by a vast field
All are the same
each knows not its own insignificance

Larger he grows
wishing to surpass the rest
Only to be diminished
the fatal blow of the mower had again arrived

Again, he tries
persistence, determination, earnestness
The pseudo-purposeful plight permeates the countryside
like the plague, hope spreads

For an eternity the struggle continues
time goes by and seasons pass
Winter arrives and turns fields to tundra
at last the end approaches

Spring comes
with it a revived field
The apparent end was deceptive
Again, the futile endeavor continues
